The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Comfort I didn’t think possible in a pair of boots. I spent 20+ yrs in the military, so I’m familiar with boots. 2 yrs ago, I got on the zero drop train for my athletic shoes. That alleviated yrs of stress on my feet.
I thought: if only they made footwear like this in the boot category that didn’t look foolish (that’s me saying it nicely), because most of us can’t wear gym shoes to work and be taken seriously. That’s where these come in.
Pros: comfort and styling
Cons: price and grip (I thought hiking footwear made in Boulder, CO, where it’s quite wintery in the winter (passed through there with work before) would be GTG in late fall in Alberta, Canada. The answer is: Negative and it’s only around freezing…. But you can’t have it all.)

Best Boots for Happy Feet
These boots are exactly what I've been searching for: all leather, waterproof, rugged soles, super-wide toe box. The boots look good and are carefully crafted. They were perfectly comfortable straight out of the box and into the mountains, providing a good grip on wet and snowy surfaces. My toes and feet have room to spread and grip and breathe. The fit is just as good as a wide Altra; the traction and durability are way better.

Need more BLACK boots!!
Love lems boots, these are my third pair. But why are you all getting rid of all your black, leather boots? I can't get black leather for any lace boot except this one, and it's not even the type of leather like the brown ones where you can restore it easily every year. Also not quite as wide in the toes as the previous Boulder boots, but still good.
