The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

FULL RUBBER OUTSOLE WITH ZIG-ZAG SIPING

This sticky rubber outsole incorporates 4mm deep lugs for incredible traction on snow, mud, and everywhere in-between! The built in zig-zag grooves (siping) provide additional biting edges to cut into ice/snow and helps ground your feet in slippery situations.

Didn't even need to break them in
Such a comfy and well-fitting boot that withstood a week right out of the box of strenuous hiking on long and steep rocky paths while also being flexible enough to let my toes stay free while my arch felt secure. I have narrow feet, so this is always a challenge, to get the laces tight enough and leave the front of the foot with space -- I love these boots.

Comfortable out of the box, water-resistant but not waterproof
Love the fit (ordered a half size up for comfort on steep declines and for fit with wool socks). No break-in, comfortable day one out of the box. Excellent grip while still allowing a sense of dexterity when scrambling on rocks. Great for water crossings, they offer a stay dry feel after brief dips/ splashes. I found the boots to be less water resistant with repeated water exposure or if hiking for prolonged periods in rainy weather. This is a minor matter, but I found the laces to be a tad short making it hard to double knot boots.
