Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Excellent Winter barefoot boot.
I love the Chelsea boot and have the original pair as well. I was happy when it was released with a good winter grip. This is a nice looking boot for both work and hiking and the generous finger pull on the heel makes them easy to pop on.
The website sizing note recommended to order normal sizing, but I wish I had ordered at least a half, if not a full size up. The boot fits well when I use the thinner insole provided, but I find the thinner insole gets pulled out of place when I take the boots off, whereas the thicker ones stays in the book. I would also prefer to have room to wear thicker warmer socks for my cold Canadian winter mountain hikes.
With shipping it's nearly $400 for me to get a pair of these, so I'll have to wait a bit before I order again, but I will order a larger size to use as a winter hiker and then use the close fitting boots for spring through fall with thinner socks.

Comfortable from the first step
No break-in needed on these boots. The elastic keeps the top of the boot snug, but is not too stiff. I ordered 1/2 size larger to accommodate thicker socks. They fit perfectly. They are so comfortable and keep my feet warm and dry, while also looking stylish. These boots are well constructed and I think they will be lasting me for years to come.

Even better than the original Chelsea boot!
While I love the original Chelsea boot, these are even better. The toe of the boot is more rounded and more attractive in my opinion. However, they are just as spacious and comfortable. I’ve seen multiple people mention the original Chelsea boot being the barefoot version of Blundstones. They didn’t look much like Blundstones to me, but this version certainly does. The more rounded toe and rugged outsole scream Blundstones. I really like the addition of the furry cuff to help keep the cold air out. I live on the coast in the PNW and it gets very cold, windy, and rainy this time of year. These boots have been great at keeping my feet warm and dry. I also really like the textured leather of this boot compared to the other Chelsea boot. I really hope a furless and non waterproof version in a color other than black becomes available at some point. My feet are 25.4 cm long and I got a size 10. With the wool socks I wear, my feet are 26cm. I have plenty of space in the boot. Less space in front of my toes than some of my other shoes, but I wouldn’t size up. They fit well on all areas of my foot. I strongly recommend giving these a try.
