Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

FULL RUBBER OUTSOLE WITH ZIG-ZAG SIPING

This sticky rubber outsole incorporates 4mm deep lugs for incredible traction on snow, mud, and everywhere in-between! The built in zig-zag grooves (siping) provide additional biting edges to cut into ice/snow and helps ground your feet in slippery situations.

It does everything I need
I bought these because I was not a 100% sure of buying the leather type LEMS. Was looking for a boot that would be waterproof and with the right sock keep my feet warm. Grip is pretty good, not as intense as a technical shoe but these shoes were made to be able to do a bit of everything and honestly, they did.
I bought them and received them just before a big snow storm, I went out to test them out. They felt pretty great at -4C where at some point I was just standing in the snow for about 1 hour and it was maybe at the end of that hour that I felt a little bit of cold. In terms of water, nothing, it is well protected. In terms of grip, I had to help some lady get her car out of the snow, pushing in between fresh snow and icy, tricky but the boots had just enough grip.
As for the fit and having to break them in, no need to break them in, walked 10 km with not one problem. And fit is just right if you have used minimalist/zero drop shoes, which was my second reason to buy these. I have a wide foot + no arch and no complaints about the fit of the boot.

Not made for wide feet
These boots were exactly what I was looking for and I was SO excited when they came in, but unfortunately they will be going back. I double and triple checked my foot length measurements but without a width measurement chart I couldn’t be certain they would work for my 10.5cm wide feet. Unfortunately these were physically painful to put on. They were extremely tight in my midfoot and totally crushed my pinky toe. As someone with high volume feet these were also a bit tight on the top of my foot as well, even when I tried them with the inserts taken out. The quality of the shoes seems great and they arrived in record time, but they just don’t fit my feet. I’m super bumped cause I absolutely love these boots. If you have regular width/volume feet and are looking for something zero drop with a moderately sized toe box, these will likely work for you. If you have wide/high volume feet, sadly I’d suggest you keep looking.
